Assistant Director, Adult & Teen Librarian
Megan Goode is the Children’s Librarian here at the Moon Township Public Library. The Children’s Department has blossomed with hard work and dedication. She earned her Masters of Library Science from Clarion University in 2009, and has been a Moon Library staff member for nearly 10 years now. Her two sons Robbie and Joshua have practically grown up here! Miss Megan LOVES to read Children and Young Adult books. She considers Judy Blume her hero, however her favorite book is The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak. She also loves Starring Sally J. Freedman as Herself by Blume, Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys, Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson, Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney, Tikki Tikki Tembo by Arlene Mosel. Anything by Mo Willems she loves as well. Megan is at the library Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (10 am-4pm). She can also be found here on Thursdays (12-8pm), and often on the weekends for exciting special events!
Technology & Technical Services Librarian
Roxanne Cain is the cataloging and technology librarian at Moon. She received her B.A. in Writing and her M.L.I.S. at the University of Pittsburgh with specializations in preservation and social media. She prepares books for circulation, sorts donations, repaired damaged items, and evaluates rare and vintage books. She also is the library’s webmaster and the go-to person for computer or technology questions. Her favorite books include The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov, Good Omens by Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett, and the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams. She enjoys playing video games, practices Spanish and drawing in her spare time, and has a black belt in Kenpo Karate. Roxanne blogs about technology and literacy issues at www.electrodesandink.com.
Nicole Beatty received her Bachelor’s in Recreation Management from Slippery Rock University in 2014. Nicole has just completed work with the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. Miss Nicole loves reading, writing, making art, and crafting. However, her real love is Star Wars and Doctor Who! Feel free to pick her brain! Her favorite books are Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, and the Harry Potter series. Her favorite children’s books are by Beatrix Potter, and the many Paddington Bear tales. You can spot Nicole at the library Monday through Wednesday, and also on Fridays!

Moon Library Board of Trustees
The Library Board of Trustees is in charge of executive decisions at Moon Township Public Library. It meets on the third Monday of every month at 6:00 PM.
||Ted Dengel (Treasurer) has been an employee of FedEx Ground for 23 years where his current position is Director of Operations Technology. He is responsible for research, development, and support of technology used throughout FedEx Ground operations. He has been a resident of Moon Township for 9 years where he lives with his wife, Heather, and 2 sons, Severin and Finnian. Ted is interested in supporting the Moon Library as it is a valuable resource for all pre-school and school-age children in the area and also to help with the expansion of the library from a traditional book-lending institution to a community center that provides modern resources and services.
|Kathleen Madonna Emmerling (Secretary) began her relationship with books as a child in the basement of the B.F. Jones Memorial Library in Aliquippa. Her love of reading blossomed as she majored in English and Political Science at Duquesne University. Upon graduation, she began working a variety of staff positions in higher education while earning an M.A. from Chatham University. She moved to Moon Township with her husband, Ed, in 2010 and began a career as a stay-at-home parent and volunteer. In addition to the Library, Kathleen can now be found working part-time for Stitch Fix wherever there is free Wi-Fi, tending her flock of heritage-breed chickens, or reading in the Moon baseball field bleachers.
||Eric Fogle (Vice President) is a public school librarian in the Seneca Valley School District. There he works with various STEAM technology tools such as 3D printing, coding and robotics. He is married and enjoys spending time with his three children. He also coaches his son’s Odyssey of the Mind team which supports creative thinking and teamwork. He is an avid supporter of the Public Library system, and enjoys reading books every day.
||Michelle Haudrich and family have lived in Moon Township for 8 years. Her professional background is in media and event planning with a specialty in growing brand awareness for both individuals and corporations. She was initially interested in serving on the board because her two elementary aged daughters have been attending library programs since before they could walk and these programs have helped them to develop a love of reading and community.
||Dr. Mary Ann Rafoth (President) (University of Georgia) is Dean of the School of Education and Social Sciences and Professor of Education at Robert Morris University. She previously served as Dean of the College of Education and Educational Technology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania from 2005 until 2011. Dr. Rafoth served as chairperson of the Educational and School Psychology Department at IUP from 1999 to 2005. She was also the Director of the Center for Educational and Program Evaluation and coordinated the Educational Psychology Master’s degree program and the School Psychology Certificate program and directed the department’s Child Study Center. She served on the Indiana Free Library Board of Directors in Indiana, PA for nine years before moving to Moon.
|Adam Randall has been a resident of Moon Township for six years. He currently works in the Policy, Government and Public Affairs department at Chevron Appalachia, headquartered here in Moon. He has worked in a variety of professional library roles throughout my career, both public and academic. His decision to serve his local public library as a board member stems from years spent working as a library professional; he saw firsthand the value that open access to information resources and free library programming brings to a community. He wants to support his local information professionals in their stewardship of such an invaluable community resource.
||Joe Tarquinio (Vice Treasurer) is a lifelong resident of Moon Twp. Associate Broker w/Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, The Preferred Realty. As our township grows, it is vital that services for our residents continue to expand. He believes that we are indeed fortunate that our library plays an important role in this growth and must continue our support for this wonderful asset.
Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Library is a group of literacy allies which help the library succeed through awareness campaigns and fundraisers. The Friends meet on the last Monday of every month at 7:15 PM.
