Hi everyone! It’s Miss Kaylea. Here’s a super simple tutorial on how to make an adorable rabbit silhouette candy jar. I used a glass coffee bottle, but this would work just as well with any other glass jar.
Here’s what you need:
- Glass bottle
- Acrylic paint (or chalk paint)
- Gray paint (if you want to paint the lid)
- Paper of some sort (I used a brown grocery bag)
- Paintbrush
- Tape
- Cotton ball
- Hot glue or tacky glue
- Varnish or setting spray (optional)
Step 1: Clean the glass bottle if you haven’t and make sure the glue from any labels is off the bottle.
Step 2: Make the bunny silhouette. I free-handed it and will show you how, but if you have a Cricut, you could use that or if you want to trace it from a reference, that’s cool too.
To draw the bunny, it’s basically a bunch of circles and you just connect them together. First, draw a big circle for the bunny’s body.
Then, draw a slightly smaller circle for the bunny’s torso.
Next, draw a circle for the bunny’s head.
Now, connect them together. I added a slight bump for the bunny’s mouth.
Give your bunny ears!!
And draw two small circles for his lil paws as well as a slight bump for his leg.
Connect that leg-bump-thingy to the bottom paw.
Go back over and darken the outline.
Go in with sharpie and make that outline even darker so it shows through the paint and cut your bunny out to make the stencil.
There you have it, you made a rabbit!
Step 3: Tape your rabbit to your glass bottle. Mine stuck out a little bit so I made sure to press it down while painting it and was pretty careful and deliberate with my strokes.
Step 4: Paint your jar and your lid if it’s not the color you want. I did around three layers to get the opacity that I wanted.

For the last layer, I took off the silhouette to clean up some lines and blend them out.
At this point, you can add a layer of varnish or setting spray to make the paint last.
Step 5: Add the little cotton tail. I used tacky glue, but a hot glue gun will work as well.
Add some finishing touches and you’ve got yourself a cute lil candy jar!!
