Remembering 9/11

September 11, 2001 was a day when everything changed.

It was an indelible moments that touched all Americans deeply and profoundly. Much like the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, people who were alive that day often remember vividly where they were and what they were doing when they found out about the terrorist attack that killed thousands.

September 11 is a solemn day but not a hopeless one. Citizens relive the unity that fueled the recovery efforts through gifts, art, and solace. Stoystown, PA, about an hour and a half away from Pittsburgh, is home to the Flight 93 National Memorial. Every spring volunteers honor the lives of the people who thwarted the hijacking and averted an attack on the U.S. Capitol by reforesting the memorial park. Plant a Tree for Flight 93 ensures that the memorial center is protected from wind damage and brings new life out of tragedy.
